Back to Black won’t please everybody, but it is a good, well-made film that tells part of Amy’s story with affection, sensitivity and a palpable respect for her talent.

This papering over of Winehouse and her story isn't just bland and boring — it's offensive.

Much like the rabid tabloid coverage Winehouse faced, Back to Black is a lazy attempt to capitalize on both the success and struggles of a great artist.

This is another example of how this genre is failing to move forward and feel more like soulless cash grabs from studio execs.
