This is a tepid meditation on the poetry of the Everyman, on a sweet working-class young man just learning about love.

Burning Patience might not set the world on fire, but it’s a pleasant look at how poetry is not always the love language one assumes it might be. Previous knowledge or study of Neruda is not necessary to enjoy this film...

It is a sweet film about understanding the meaning of love, but it doesn’t really do much in terms of the exploration of the two lovers.
