Rowdy Rathore beats you to a pulp, cinematically. It's a relentless assault that kicks in as soon as the credit titles roll.

Big, dumb and pretty good fun once the flat first hour is over, Bollywood masala Rowdy Rathore makes the grade on the strength of Akshay Kumar's charismatic dual perfs as a supercop killed on duty and a lookalike thief who takes his place.

Predictably, Rowdy goes about setting things straight. But he takes way too long, making the film stretch on like a tasteless wad of chewing gum.

Rowdy Rathore wastes nearly an hour setting up plot points that should have taken no more than fifteen minutes, and the film suffers for it.
