It’s all big and loud and orange, and if you squint here or there you can see signs of the old Herman Yau.

The White Storm 3: Heaven or Hell is a sloppily edited mess that jumps around too much in the story's non-chronological timeline. This substandard action movie also does nothing new or interesting with a plot about undercover cops and drug dealers.

The film proves far more interesting when viewed as an epic about the drug trade set in an exotic foreign milieu than as an undercover-police drama that traces the limits of deception.

A familiar but visceral and entertaining action thriller.
