Storyline

In a small traditional Georgian village, Etero, the owner of a housekeeping shop, is a forty-eight-year-old spinster. She cherishes her freedom, as much as her cakes, and is preparing for a peaceful and comfortable retirement away from gossip. But a fiery affair with her delivery man could derail all her plans.

Chavleishvili is terrific, delivering a performance that carries the picture and sets its tone.

Naveriani is a natural filmmaker, and she’s gifted with a perfect lead performance for the material.

It’s a film which tells us what most films contrive to ignore: love and sex is not just for the lovely and the sexy and the young. This is a gentle, sensual gem of a film.

David Parkinson

RTRadio TimesFeb 13, 2025

Reacting to joy and adversity with deadpan dignity, Chavleishvili gives a compelling performance that is enhanced by the stillness of cinematographer Agnesh Pakozdi's delicately lit images.
