The Magic Faraway Tree is sweet, even a bit twee, and unfailingly nice in a way that will draw early sighs of relief from parents jaded by more obnoxious family fare. But it’s surprisingly unfunny.

It sputters out in the end, but it is worth a visit for families and both leads are endearing.

Garfield, an actor who can make you feel like you’re being hugged in his presence, even in a film like The Social Network, is especially good at selling this movie’s winsome vibes.

A warm, funny and genuinely charming family film, even if it's sometimes a little too sweet for its own good. [Full Review in Spanish]
