It may not have the focus and flair of How to Train Your Dragon, but Chris Sanders’ quirky tale of an unlikely bond between an upbeat android and an orphaned gosling has a lot of heart.

The lessons of The Wild Robot are simple, but the artistry it uses to get there is anything but. It’s the kind of kids movie that feels all too rare with its painterly backdrops and genuine earnestness. The whole family is likely to fall in love.

Lupita Nyong'o is doing fantastic voice work here. The whole cast is great.

This animated film from DreamWorks is lovely in every way, shape, and form. Honestly. I was charmed by everything in it: story, voices, animation…everything.
