Critics consensus

“Though unabashedly crude and juvenile, Caddyshack nevertheless scores with its classic slapstick, unforgettable characters, and endlessly quotable dialogue.”

"Caddyshack" is an above average example of the over-inflated B-movie gag film genre because of its expert performances.

The humor in this film is very high-yield. I laughed and laughed, even when I probably shouldn't have.

It's Rodney Dangerfield who rules this show, as his delivery of some truly hilarious lines is spot-on.
