Minor sins are easy to forgive for such a bold, idiosyncratic anti-Western as this, the kind we don’t often get.

If not quite in the top tier of 21st-century westerns, this supernatural oater from director Ned Crowley has a distinctive silhouette.

Sure, the script meanders and the dialogue occasionally gets caught up in its own importance, but overall this is an absorbing and unsettlingly gory odyssey.

Killing Faith reminds me how much fun a Stephen King adaptation can be and should be. Crowley captures the spirit of the old-time Western and masterfully builds the tension for each encounter our heroes face.
