Fran the Man

The location footage feels authentic and lived-in, in a way the plot doesn’t, though said plot might matter less if the characters were given a bit more room to charm and entertain.

Fran the Man is an example of a rare variety of movie – a comedy that’s actually funny.

… a carefully made, genuinely entertaining film, smoothly combining sports and comedy.

True, the mockumentary set-up works just fine for a short sketch, but I’m afraid there aren’t enough jokes to sustain a feature-length presentation.
