This English-language version plays as if a teen Jackie Collins wrote an illicit romance between two cantankerous step-siblings set in the worlds of “The Fast and the Furious” and “Never Back Down.” If that sounds chaotically messy, it’s because it is.

There’s something magnetic about [our leads'] journey that makes it easy to press "play" again and get lost in their world.

As one character notes, the film has a lot of "bad boy clichés," not to mention a predictable YA romance formula.

The film’s insistence on soldiering gamely through a bunch of dull and cluttery plot nonsense left my brain unoccupied, and therefore open to parse the concept of “romantic chemistry” in movies.
