The irrepressible tone of mordant giggliness this movie hits so often is entirely its own, keeping the movie buoyant throughout its over two-hour running time.

Just droll, twisty, and stylish enough to forgive this 136-minute film for using a lot more runway than it needs to be airborne, "Good News" is a veritable caricature of middle-management.

Energetic and astutely paced as it is, this tale simply goes on longer than maximum viewer involvement can withstand, its buoyancy eventually deflating somewhat. Still, too much of a good thing is better than none.

Though much of Good News is fictional, the film flips the script, retelling a true-life story with dashes of action, humor, and thrills.
