A True Gentleman poses the question of what’ll happen if one makes a concoction out of every story about male escorts in existence and treats every conflict like an afterthought. Well, the answer is that the result is going to be predictable and boring.

The Turkish Netflix movie is a largely uncomfortable exploration of transactional relationships, lingering trauma, and existential crises. Fun!

Convenient and cliched, 'A True Gentleman' works because of Çagatay Ulusoy's charming and vulnerable performance.
