If the 2022 Gatta Kusthi was marred by misogyny, Gatta Kusthi 2 is far more problematic, where not just women but even kids are stereotyped.

...Gatta Kusthi 2 not only betters its predecessor but also comes close — just about — to redeeming the problems in the first film.

It knows exactly what it is doing, and Ayyavu has sharpened his skill as a director to give a film that moves so quickly between ideas and positions, character and plot, feminism and heroism, until nothing matters, really, except family.
