Storyline

“Together” follows a quiet young man who finds comfort in the gentle rituals of a café, where love blooms in silence and familiarity. In the warmth of repeated moments, he holds on to a presence that feels real, even if the world around him never sees it. It’s a tender story of longing, memory, and the kind of love that lives deeply inside — whether shared or not.

“Though melodramatic at times, Together is heartwarming and well-acted.”

It is best read as a paean to the power of music -- while it is playing, the film is at its most persuasive.

Never wavers from its serviceably warm and fuzzy path.

The performances are all terrific, but Together never jells as a compelling narrative.

...a small-scale movie set in modern Beijing that comes right up to the brink of mawkishness and is saved only by some residual inscrutability in the narrative.
