It's so screamingly unfunny it verges on the surreal.

Supposedly about a family of stupid suburbanites, but really about a family of suburban conspiracy theorists. The disconnect there renders the film largely inert.

Oddly enough, if you can sweat out the first half-hour or so of desperately misfired humour, it takes on a kind of morbid fascination.
