Maidentrip

The film is a compelling tribute to a remarkable achievement, and to a young woman who is, in her own words, "pretty bad-ass."

Dekker knows who she is, what she wants to do, and how to get it done, and Maidentrip wisely sails off the tailwinds of her confidence and boundless curiosity.

At best this functions as a pleasant aquatic travelogue; at worst it validates a teenage girl's egotism.

Regardless of the young sailor's considerable nautical expertise, there is no such thing as smooth sailing on the trip Dekker is going on and watching her navigate those waters is a beautiful and exciting sight to behold.
