Storyline

Tom Six, creator of the notorious Human Centipede trilogy, having lived fourteen years with MS in private, sets out to document the end of his life after being unable to release The Onania Club, resulting in this hilarious fever-dream like-documentary feature (with actors) about the absurdity of existence, the film industry, his demise and the restrictions of artistic freedom. ‘The tortured artist is not a myth.’

Despite all its very laboured non-PC humour, this film does have a relevant story to tell: about the terrible end awaiting all those who embark on risk-taking careers in indie film-making that end in failure.

The End of Tom Six, an underground-cinephile-on-acid curio, is worth seeing for the question it raises: Do we want the arena of cinema to be a place where anything can happen, or do we want it to be a safe space?

If this is how Tom Six bows out of the movie world, it’s a fitting and poignant way to go: in his own terms and done in the worst possible taste.
