Beth de Araújo’s film about an eight-year-old girl who witnesses a horrific crime is clearly about a loss of innocence but also skilfully shows how that loss can shatter a family.

A film of tremendous grimness, grit and grace that refuses to leave your heart and mind.

By weaponising youthful dialogue and perspectives, De Anaujo and team generate palpable urgency around their compelling themes of injustice, trauma, and the unfixable loss of innocence.
