The film is an authentic children's entertainment and quite the merriest of its kind that Hollywood has turned loose on the nation's screens in a long time.

This is a kid's movie rife with all the Freudian squalor that Disney repressed.

It's a combination of Victor Herbert, scrambled Mother Goose, scrambled Laurel and Hardy, and toy nightmare - the sort of thing an imaginative child might dream, falling asleep after too many Christmas excitements and indigestibles.

. Revenge, Christmas, and big wooden men, does it get any better than that? Sometimes, it is really best not to analyze too deeply, just enjoy the insanity.
