Carmín Tropical

This film captures the essence of ambivalence that something is only an issue if someone cares about it.

Carmin Tropical is a tender look at the friendship between two trans women. Although a tad slight, the internal complexities of Mabel's character make it a thoroughly rewarding watch.

An elegant way to give new life to a genre that already has more than eighty years of existence. [Full review in Spanish]

Neither the mystery of Mabel's past nor the mystery she faces in her present fully satisfy - the former is too opaque and the latter telegraphed early.
