Storyline

A US government germ warfare lab has had an accident. The first theory is that one of the germs has been released and killed several scientists. The big fear is that a more virulent strain, named The Satan Bug because all life can be killed off by it should it escape, may have been stolen.

...there’s a modern film fighting to get out; Maharis does well as the proto-Bond hero, and some of the location work is ahead of its time...with just a few glass flasks and a serious tone, Sturges conjures up a grounded sci-fi drama for patient viewers.

There is no talent in 'The Satan Bug' and there is a place for a clear mediocrity that tarnishes the entire film. [Full Review in Spanish]

[UPDATED 2024 REVIEW] The Satan Bug was a soft performer and has largely been forgotten over time, but it's a natural watch for audiences in the mood for intelligent fare.

The slow-moving film was dull from the get-go and never picked up any momentum.
