The details of life in London are, for the most part, utterly unconvincing - Sam refuses to learn English - and a climactic court case is spectacularly phony.

Custody battles don't really make for great comedy, but the team behind this seems not to notice nor care. It's the movie equivalent of fast food.

The film's first act is full of mixed messages that lead to an unsteady, fluctuating tone.

Consequently, it can be thought that the film has a script that begins in an attractive and dizzying way, which continues in a somewhat twisted manner, falling into a series of trite resources, to finally produce emotion in the audience.
