Berkeley was fired from the film after choreographic the "I Got Rhythm" finale, and as a result the film never quite achieves the same effortless charm his earlier collaborations between Rooney and Garland

Judy Garland, then 21, and 23-year-old Mickey Rooney were clearly pushing the envelope when they played crazy kids who put on a show one last time.

The highlight of the film is all the bouncy Gershwin brother tunes.
