With a more polished script, Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters might've been something of a modern classic.

While the film employs cel shading and game-like elements, the standard formula of Godzilla gets flipped on its head with humanity on the offense.

"Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters" has some faults, particularly regarding the fully CGI approach, but it definitely deserves a watch for its story, direction, and especially the great battle scenes.

Godzilla: Planet of Monsters did a decent job setting up the world and introducing some concepts that have some real potential, but the weak character development is really a killer.
