Storyline

This is the story of an isolated Alaskan town that is plunged into darkness for a month each year when the sun sinks below the horizon. As the last rays of light fade, the town is attacked by a bloodthirsty gang of vampires bent on an uninterrupted orgy of destruction. Only the small town's husband-and-wife Sheriff team stand between the survivors and certain destruction.

Critics consensus

“While 30 Days of Night offers a few thrills, it ultimately succumbs to erratic execution.”

Frankly, after you've seen one writhing, orgiastic vampire feeding, you've seen them all.

Feels derivative of 28 Days Later.

A real baying-at-the-moon gorefest, unusual both for its savagery and for a half-decent performance from Hartnett.

…a proficient B-movie that really works some terrific jump scares and baroque visuals…a bloody siege with vampires in an Alaska town, David Slade’s lurid, gory horror wears its genre origins with pride….
