The main pleasure here is the sparky chemistry between Laurent's screwball-style smart cookie heroine and Dujardin's lovable rogue.

It's admirably silly, though, played with aplomb by a game cast, and it features some amusingly rococo lines.

[A] ridiculous yet enjoyable romp...

The pure comedy in the film is pitch perfect, from ridiculous situations to romantic comedy territory that is actually delightful to follow.
