Be it as brutal violators or patronising saviours of women, Simmba shows that it all boils down to the same toxic masculinity which the men behind Simmba have been perpetuating film after film.

How much one warms up to the excesses of an incessantly roaring Simmba will depend wholly on the extent of our willingness to lay down our critical faculties and lap up this championing of vigilantism.

If Simmba is Rohit Shetty's idea of what justice looks for women, I can only hope that we don't have to sit through a film that is his version of what equality looks like.

...it degenerates into yet another badly-written Tamil comedy.
