Most of this is built around the same low-hanging, moldy observations your uncle had last Thanksgiving, but it's elevated ever so slightly by the occasional, more physical bits of James' set.

Amusing, fast, inoffensive -- for the most part.

I certainly don't think you shouldn't make a special just because it's been seventeen years since you've done that. But if it feels like your special could have been released during any one of those interim years, that might be an issue.

Overall, the special is mostly benign, flaccid comedy that probably would have felt a little more at home in 1995.
