The Last Witness

The Last Witness provides an intriguing slice of history ... but more nuance and detail in the execution and story would have offered the audience far greater satisfaction.

The Last Witness tells an important story that needs to be told and know but ultimately is a lackluster film that feels like it drags on even at its 1 hour and 33 minutes runtime.

A reminder of how England helped to suppress reports about Stalin's murder of 22,000 Poles in 1940 when it was politically expedient.

The Last Witness is similarly incapable of directly facing the slaughter, choosing instead to give glimpses of the trauma it left on the few survivors and only featuring, at most, five minutes of reenactments.
