Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku

At its core, this is a film about learning to make things work when they fall short of perfection. That may sometimes make sense in the context of romance but it's not so appealing to be expected to make allowances for a film.

Fukada offers comical moments, pleasing musical sequences, and endearing romantic segments but ultimately fails to deliver the emotional powerful moment the narrative needs.

Even if you've already read the manga or seen the anime, the Wotakoi movie offers a fresh twist on a familiar story.

The ideas are there and the performances are good, but the love is simply nonexistent in this disappointing La La Land wannabe. [Full review in Spanish]
