Crucible of the Vampire

There are one or two enjoyable moments in this cheerfully ridiculous erotic horror from director and co-writer Iain Ross-McNamee; sadly it doesn't quite work.

Despite its best efforts Crucible of the Vampire just doesn't have enough weight behind it to achieve what it really wants to.

Style, scares and audacious ideas are all finally much too thin on the ground to elevate this film beyond its budget.

Iain Ross-McNamee tries to take British horror back to the late 1960s and early 1970s with Crucible of The Vampire, a solid low budget fright pic that has enough atmosphere, quirky performances and mystery to keep you hooked.
