This incarnation of the Paranormal Activity films is plenty effective... These actors are just excellent at playing the material.

It's clearly an original story that's been slapped with the Paranormal Activity label and that only adds to the sense that there's little creative depth here.

No longer bound by tired mythology, Next of Kin presents a new supernatural mystery through its most polished effort yet. If only it included tension and scares, too.

While it doesn’t carry on with the same content that we came to love in Paranormal Activity 1-3, it does have a solid premise, a great setting, and some decent scares.
