The Daily Show correspondent Ronny Chieng uses his outsider perspective (his family is Malaysian but he grew up in Singapore and New Hampshire before going to university in Melbourne) to reveal everything...

Chieng is able to play with stereotypes and walk right up to the line of what might be considered offensive, but he knows where and when to pull back and release the tension with the punchline.

Chieng accomplishes what he sets out to do during his special. He holds up a mirror to American society, we recoil in disgust, but then he makes us laugh so that the medicine goes down a little easier.

As an immigrant, he's precisely the comedian to remind us why anyone chooses to come here, and why it's folly for so many of us to focus on what we think sucks about America, or whether it needs to be returned to greatness.
