A group of film students take three unemployed actors to an abandoned motel in the Norwegian mountains to make a zombie film. Fiction suddenly becomes reality when an unknown creature begins to terrorize the film set.
There is a twist at the end that is honestly surprising, the haunted-looking cabin is impressive, and the Norwegian landscape is gorgeous. Those are better reasons to recommend Project Z than its quotient of either humor or terror.

Sold on a premise similar to 2017’s Japanese zombie comedy One Cut of the Dead, Project Z might have turned out better if it just presented a straight-up fusion of its clear influences.

Project Z is a horror satire with too-obvious intentions and execution.
