It's consoling to watch Maron dismantle this particular moment in history so ruthlessly -- refusing to allow for the possibility of absolution, but still crankily taking the turmeric anyway.

End Times Fun is largely static, with performer and director aware that watching Maron's mind whirr while his body stays largely hunched on a center-stage stool is what people are there to see.

It is furious and exhausted and funny and thoughtful, and if the apocalypse is coming, Marc Maron will at least help you crack a wry chuckle before your face catches fire.

This special is not exactly comforting, but it is oddly prophetic and super dark in all the best ways.
