Dancing reigns in Into the Beat. Ballet and hip-hop here compete. The dance routines look great and new, but ballet numbers are too few.

Into the Beat raises interesting issues about how we see ourselves in youth and how we create our identities in the world as we grow into adulthood.

It might not be totally original, but with a charming young cast and some truly electrifying dance sequences, Into the Beat is more than worth your while.

Into the Beat relies on the formulaic and predictable elements to keep the story moving, but at the same time, there's no denying that the plot is heartwarming.
