The film’s title is therefore both sincere and bittersweet, a summary of the profound affection and of the compromises that make up often fraught but somehow loving family bonds.

Everything Went Fine is well made without being entertaining—though entertainment doesn’t seem to be its goal—and it will reward patient audiences who appreciate a deliberate march toward an inevitable conclusion.

A meticulously balanced if oddly inert film.

Everything Went Fine is not an easy watch, but it is certainly worth your time.
