Funny and sweet, and while it’s predictable...brings more relevance and diversity to the story.

The prospect of Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan in a Miami Cuban-flavoured remake of Father of the Bride is an intriguing one. Sadly, this new movie strips out everything that made the 1991 Steve Martin version so special.

I applaud the celebration of cultural diversity most of all, and secondarily the more evolved perspective on weddings and relationships... But the writing really falls short, and it's not particularly funny.

Father of the Bride 2022 celebrates marriage, families, and second chances with immense heart and amusing banter.
