Critics consensus

“Presenting itself as profound while relying entirely on shock factor, I Melt With You subjects its audience to a misanthropic marathon of bad behavior that's about as fun as a mid-life crisis.”

It really is good, albeit in ways that are different from other movies.

Picture the anti-drug egg commercial from the 80s. "This is your brain. This is 'I Melt With You.' This is your brain on 'I Melt With You.'" Get it?

The movie captures, as well as any other, the feeling of partying into oblivion, minus the next-morning internal pitchfork stabs. Think of a wild friend you wouldn't want to emulate but can't let go of.

Wow!! These guys make Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas look like child's play... But then you look below the surface, you realize that from the opening frame, there is more here than meets the eye.
