The Seeds of Vandana Shiva

Shiva’s story is so compelling — and Shiva herself is such a commanding yet warm figure on camera — that the documentary’s straightforwardness doesn’t hinder a narrative that could inspire for environmentalists, feminists, and anti-corporate activists.

“Can you be right about something even if you don’t know what you are talking about?” That question is at the heart of the complexities of Vandana Shiva’s life and work, and the massive push back she faces as she stares down global corporate forces.

From defacing the ‘Green Revolution’ and its adverse effects on the planet to leading us to the current threat that looms over the traditional way of farming, the documentary is informative, empowering, and inspiring in ways that make it necessary.
