With a little bit of jeopardy, some social observation, and a few laughs, this is a perfectly acceptable family comedy in the made-for-TV mold.

If you didn't experience the Disney merman movie as a child, you simply missed out. A quirky coming of age story that always felt perfect on those weekend afternoons.
