The film has an original and at times disarming approach to bearing witness.

[North Circular] has the grainy quality of a Polaroid in the drizzle – a snapshot of a period that, for better or worse, is slipping away before our eyes but which McManus has ensured will now be preserved.

North Circular feels slightly unfocused at times, but this is likely intentional given how tough it is to nail down one definitive take on what it means to be from this area.
