Edgy teen humor, creature feature scares, and heartfelt friendship make this a wonderfully weird cult movie discovery for horror fans.

The Weird Kidz owes its origins to beloved creature features of yesteryear and coming-of-age dramas that dominated the 1980s. And yet, the delivery here, through a unique design and heartfelt story, is worthy of praise.

It’s enjoyably crude and made with love, delivering a bizarre adventure that celebrates absurdity and adolescent obsessions in an entertaining way.

... has a lot more going on under the hood than one may expect from a lo-fi animated adventure, satisfying the audience’s bloodlust while providing an old fashioned creature feature in the process.
