Critics consensus

“One of the franchise's stronger entries, V/H/S/85 largely avoids the quality control issues common to anthologies, with consistently creepy results.”

V/H/S/85 is an absolute blast of gore, laughs, fright, and mayhem.

Truth be told, the only thing stranger than the “V/H/S” franchise waiting six movies to revisit the ’80s is how little it does with the decade when it finally goes there.

Pretty much just a bunch of stuff you’ve seen before, only now with some mildly ironic twists and tweaks to adjust for retrospective tracking.

There’s no obvious weak link and it really feels like the filmmakers are all bringing their A game to this installment.
