Storyline

Over one thousand people have been charged with storming the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, as part of a widely televised insurrection attempt. Approximately 15% of them worked as police or military personnel. This staggering statistic begs an important question: how can a service member who took an oath to protect the country’s democracy do something that puts that very democracy in jeopardy?

A grim diagnosis of a fast-spreading cancer, “Against All Enemies” may provide much less reassurance than cause for alarm, but its wakeup call is certainly worth heeding.

Most useful to the ongoing dialogue about domestic terrorism is "Against All Enemies"’ investigation into the present and historical ties between American hate groups and armed servicemen and women.

Against All Enemies brings us a multifaceted buffet of the problems at hand, asking its audience to come up with answers that most of us don’t have the knowledge or power to answer. There is little here to keep us hopeful.

Hateful bigotry has taken root in the very fabric of American society. Democratic institutions are in peril. Sadly, from many of those who fought and swore to protect it. Against All Enemies cautions with a sobering reality check.
