Jay Weissberg

RTVarietyApr 12, 2006

[It's] as if the weight of sadness sits so heavily on the characters that it keeps their faces frozen and prevents them from moving at more than a snail's pace.

Walter Chaw

RTFilm Freak CentralJun 22, 2006

It's a visually and structurally arresting piece.

The film is entirely without human interiority, the sets and camera work serving as objective substitutes.
