Storyline

In the wake of a string of anti-Semitic threats pointed in his direction online, Edelman decides to go straight to the source; specifically, Queens, where he covertly attends a meeting of White Nationalists and comes face-to-face with the people behind the keyboards.

With his first HBO special, the writer-comedian disarmingly balances satire, straight comedy, and old-fashioned pathos.

A comedian to watch, Alex Edelman could expand upon this moment and create a series that would last for years. Now, though, “Just for Us” is one that can fuel countless conversations and great admiration. It's a keeper.

Ultimately, the show wants us to be as hopeful as Edelman, while also reminding us that sometimes we need safe spaces to simply exist. And we sure need a lot of hope right now.

Alex Edelman: Just For Us is very funny and unapologetically Jewish in material.
