None of this is remotely credible, or particularly suspenseful. But it is handled with reasonable aplomb by director Kate Dolan and her cast, who do their best to elevate material that can only be raised so far.

The movie is more watchable than you might expect, and the cast is appealing. But one of its issues is the amount of plot overlap with last year’s Companion, a sharper satirical jab at toxic relationships and technophobia.

Let [this film] serve as a reminder to film executives everywhere: Not every sleeper hit needs to become an unofficial trilogy.

...the kind of sci-fi horror movie that I may not watch again, but I enjoyed watching it now. And yes, I think most viewers will enjoy this one as well. Especially those who already love the M3GAN universe.
