Flaws aside, it’s ultimately a pleasant enough way to beat the heat, grab a few laughs, take in a fine soundtrack and find yourself in some good company.

A lovely charmer rocking two pitch perfect lead performances from Spike Fearn and Angourie Rice, and a stellar soundtrack.

Occasionally the film gets a little too caught up in its own adorableness...but for the most part “Finding Emily” is just quirky enough, with a lovely sense of place and a few effective nods to “When Harry Met Sally …” for the rom-com completists.

By virtue of great casting, an awareness of the subgenre's tropes, and a predominantly female focus, this is an utter delight!
